Memphis Club Member Wins Amateur Championship! Print E-mail

Congrats to Memphis Disc Golf Club Member Cody Sanders who recently won the Southern National Amateur Championship in Hartselle and Athens, Alabama!!  Cody beat out 58 other competitors to win the Championship. In winning the Championship, Cody took home over $1000 worth of prizes including a basket and discs! Now we know who to borrow a disc from, when we toss one into the lake!

Cody Sanders shows off his Championship Trophy

The Southern National Championship is the highest level of disc golf that you can win at the Amateur level in the South.  Next on Cody's list is a possible Advanced Amateur Championship or maybe even move up to the Pro Level someday soon. Congrats again Cody! Way to represent the Memphis Club!

Johnson Road Disc Golf Course-- Germantown Print E-mail

Couple notes regarding the Johnson Road Park expansion project. This is really excting!.  If you haven't had a chance to walk the new layout this is gonna make this park a great member of the local course arsenal.  We've seen an explosion of new disc golfers with the other courses that have been added in the last few years and we are positive this project will help continue that trend.

1: The city will be pouring our new tee pads over the next few weeks.

2: We need to raise at a minimum the funds for 9 new baskets (~$3150). Find attached the fundraising form.  We also will be starting on sponsorships for the holes signs and new collars.  Please pass this along to anyone who would be interested in having their name on a plaque on one of the new baskets.

LOOK, this is the easiest thing any of you can do. All of us know at LEAST 1 person or 1 Company that may would be interested in having their name permanently on a basket. People can only say no. They can't hurt you! ( or shouldn't ) Print out this flyer and get it out there please. This is defintely something any of you can do to help. Thanks tons in advance!!

Watch for more information soon regarding having more (any) meetings for the upcoming 2009 Memphis Disc Golf Club season!

If you have any questions, contact us here at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and me your faithful man secretary can get the answers.

This is a personal challenge to all of you who haven't had the time or chance to help the club yet, get a sponsor. A Laural...& Hardy handshake will be your reward..besides the glowy feeling inside for doing something good.
