Johnson Road Disc Golf Course-- Germantown Print E-mail

Couple notes regarding the Johnson Road Park expansion project. This is really excting!.  If you haven't had a chance to walk the new layout this is gonna make this park a great member of the local course arsenal.  We've seen an explosion of new disc golfers with the other courses that have been added in the last few years and we are positive this project will help continue that trend.

1: There will be a work day Saturday to clear out the trees we've marked for removal on the 5 new wooded holes.  We will start at 12:00.  Please bring chainsaws, loppers, etc as we have about 100 trees (most only a couple inches in diameter) to cut down, cut into sections, and line our fairways with.  The forecast is for the 50's and partly cloudy. Wear long pants and bring bug spray.  This is YOUR chance to help the club!

2: The city will be pouring our new tee pads over the next few weeks.

3: We need to raise at a minimum the funds for 9 new baskets (~$3150). Find attached the fundraising form.  We also will be starting on sponsorships for the holes signs and new collars.  Please pass this along to anyone who would be interested in having their name on a plaque on one of the new baskets.

LOOK, this is the easiest thing any of you can do. All of us know at LEAST 1 person or 1 Company that may would be interested in having their name permanently on a basket. People can only say no. They can't hurt you! ( or shouldn't ) Print out this flyer and get it out there please. This is defintely something any of you can do to help. Thanks tons in advance!!

Watch for more information soon regarding having more (any) meetings for the upcoming 2009 Memphis Disc Golf Club season!

If you have any questions, contact us here at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and me your faithful man secretary can get the answers.

This is a personal challenge to all of you who haven't had the time or chance to help the club yet, get a sponsor. A Laural...& Hardy handshake will be your reward..besides the glowy feeling inside for doing something good.

Check out the Sponsor form (pdf)

Last day to join: June 21

The Format:  Singles handicap allows people of all skill levels to compete on a level playing field.  A handicap will be used to adjust each score at the end of the round.  This adjusted score will determine the order of finish.  Handicaps are based on sliding scale of 80.4%-90% of the difference between players' average raw scores from the last 3-rounds and the official par on the courses played.  Since disc golf courses don't have standardized pars, we use an arbitrary reference number to calculate handicaps.  In the case of our summer leagues, the reference number will be 50.  All handicap records will be kept up by league officials and posted weekly.

The Payout:  $4 of every entry will be used to pay out the top 1/3 of adjusted scores each week.  Each player’s top 12 adjusted scores will determine the final league standings.  The additional $1 from each week’s entry will be used to payout the top 1/3 of final league standings.  An ace pot will be available each week for an additional $1.

Note: Membership in Memphis Disc Golf is required.  Membership is $20 and can be purchased on-site

  • [GUEST]guest_3638 : It's like ball golf, 3's on short holes and 5's on really longs and 4's are those in betweeners, your total should be 70 to 72. But, its easier to keep score using all 3's and you don't have to worry about remembering was that a 3 ,4 or 5?
  • [GUEST]guest_57 : I play pro par but I have some beginers and I'm trying to get an accurate course par count
